LOVE NOT THE WORLD BUT LOVE

Easy to spot the Christian who,

In his self-centeredness,

Sees only avoidance of sin!

Sees no one to bless!

.

.

His avoidance inadvertently

Of everyone else

His eyes on the ground, never to look

Upward!  Just self!

.

.

Why cannot we be proud we love Jesus?

Look on that cross there!

At work, at play admittedly,

Do not I even care?

.

.

Admittedly sure not ashamed

I serve a living Lord!

Some may scoffingly ask and who is that?

Only One can afford–

.

.

To love us all!  For His children we

So often, full of hate!

Lusting instead of love; only

Self to satiate!

.

.

Lust, self love, the difference all know!

Inordinately is hate

Everyone else breathing the air

Just will not accommodate.

.

.

Love each other, for love is of God!

He who does not love

Cannot love God for He is complete in

His purest, above.

.

.

All for when unselfish complete!

Can be nothing I see,

Except so close to the Only One

Who gave His life for me.

.

.

God is love!  And he who loves not, knows

Not, the only One.

Who is purest love who gave His life

My God.  God the Son!

.

.

And He is my Father!

THE THREE ARE ONE

Why did Jesus die on that cross?

Submitting willingly?

Sins penalty is what He took!

Claimed it for you and me!

.

.

Died that we need not die in our sins!

Projected!  Ever our time began.

He died for me and you sinner friend,

Sure, myself a sinner I am!

.

.

We live our lives in a sinful world

And the Holy Spirit cries!

The pride of life cannot help myself!

“Wages of sin…” I must die!

.

.

The Spirit woes but we disobey.

He pleads, “Do not do it!”  We do!

Holy Spirit as a Gentle Dove

With triune Godhead it is true!

.

.

One God, of course, the Trinity

God the Father, in love

Came down, the Son, to propitiate

Spirit, the gentlest Dove. (*)

.

.

To recap, baptism of Jesus

Spirit, symbol, a dove

Descended, baptism complete.

God smiles Spirit, His Love!

.

.

“God, in three persons,” threesome descend

In God the Son, He who died for us.

God the Holy Spirit in baptism

All One in Christ Jesus!

.

.

God the Father, God the Son, and

God the Holy Spirit

It is the Triune God, each One in One!

One God!  Simply accept it!

.

.

We accept Christ by faith,

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”

.

HIS WILL UNTIL

His will until conflict, tragedy, forevermore

Gone once safe on that Heavenly Shore!

.

Child of God is safe even then

Psalmist experienced what God did contend!

.

So we like King David can know this is true!

From down within Shepard King knew.

.

We can know, also, so many centuries later!

God is on the throne still!  Tell now, who is greater?

.

Through tempests, wars keeping power still!

Keeps!  How and why because it is His will!

.

Worlds, the very atmosphere He created!

Endless space, hurricane you can see and hear!

.

Storms in violence do show a bit

Of His Power, who created it!

.

All in the heavens and surely the earth

We He formed in His own image in our birth!

.

One difference we are aware, He always is!

What more can express Almighty?  Who is!

.

Was a time when God was not?

Existence, always!  Forever cannot blot.

.

Cannot time presence that always was!

Or fact that we were made from dust.

.

Never was a time when God was not.

Pre-existence!  Forever!  Cannot blot!

.

Whose time presence that always been?

God the Father, God the Son, and Holy Spirit!

.

How can this be?  Then how miracles we see?

Look around!  Miracles will always be!

.

Life we call it not everlasting yet,

Exception spirit living on it is set!

.

By God’s Spirit alive and vibrant still!

Who then with fish did the oceans fill?

.

Spirit of man that no one can kill!

Until forever!  Or when God says until.

MIND BOGGLING

Someone is up there listening, do not

Know how, do not know where!

Up or all around you sure I

Know He is everywhere!

How can this be?  Cannot see Him,

Rain is falling!  Just one spot?

Sun is shining, lights the sky up,

Night falls now, one black blot?

Cannot see Him!  Impossible to,

Cannot see all the stars that shine.

“God is Spirit!”  What does that mean?

Cannot see the spirit anytime!

How big is God?  How limitless is

Space?  Yet God is love!

Small enough to see your problem

Yet all around and above!

He sees everything and always!

So what then can we hide?

Everywhere in all creation!  Yet,

He is always by your side!

Can you dig it?  Sure, it cannot be!

How can this possibly?

How can God be everywhere?  But He is Spirit,

This I cannot see.

“No one has seen God the Father,”

No one at any time.

God the Son?  Yes, men beheld Him,

Truly man yet divine!

Quite enough for these eyes knowing,

Mind boggling though it be,

My spirit eyes can and do behold Him!

I will praise God eternally!

DIVINE DIALOGUE

Keep in touch with Jesus,

See Him on the throne.

God the Father, stands by

While God the Son leaves home.

.

.

God the Son descending

Planet earth, His aim,

To live and die for sinners

Yes, that is why He came.

.

.

“I made those people,” God said

“It is true,” said the Son,

If not for Lucifer, they

Would be safe everyone!

.

.

“I will go.  Assume sins wages.

I will die for their sins!”

Then God the Father trembled

The Heavens shook within!

.

.

Become human?  Bad enough!

But to face Satan, too?

It is true.  Jesus answered,

“This I will do!”

.

.

“Yes, I know,” said the Father,

As He sadly looked away!

Gabriel knew the enemy

And prepared for the fray!

.

.

An unseen shield was spread

Over Mother and Child!

The Holy Child grew safely

From all sin undefiled!

.

.

“Yes, I know you!” Satan smiled.

The wilderness was bleak.

Full forty days he had fasted

And sleepless, He was weak!

.

.

“Make bread of these stones,”

Devil growled, knew he was failing.

Tormented, Jesus cried out,

“Be done with this assailing!”

.

.

Jesus knew it was not over

The temptations would not end!

His last trick, crucifixion!

With this Christ must contend!

.

.

But the end was the beginning!

His resurrection gained

Salvation for believers!

And cleansing from sins stain!

.

.

Hallelujah!  Christ arose!

.

.

COME HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit, Comforter, not recognized by some,

Who many say go overboard, but what of the one

Or five out of ten who definitely believe.

Not just believe in but consistently receive.

.

.

Rejected Holy Spirit, the teaching, leading one

Jesus said, “I leave now but The Comforter will come…”

The Comforter, third person of the Trinity, we know

Dissected then ignored unrecognizable below.

.

.

Yes, He has a distant function; do you know?  Have you seen?

The power revealed at Pentecost, big change it would seem!

Twelve cowards turned courageous, preaching, healing everywhere!

Then Paul came and the twelve were quite eager to share.

.

.

They all suffered violent deaths, Peter asked to be

Crucified upside down, a close identity

To His Savior who died but arose again to live

And send the Holy Spirit, new courage to give!

.

.

In Heaven we will see Him for we will be spirits, too.

Jesus, Holy Spirit, and God, yes, it is true!

The three are still One!  Yes, One God over all,

I listened, responded, yes, He hears all who call!

.

.

The Holy Spirit now sustains us as we go.

He is with us and He guides us.  That is all we need to know.

Along with God, the Father, and Jesus who died.

And God, the Holy Spirit, with whom we abide!

.

.

Not confusing, God the Father, and of course, God the Son,

And God the Holy Spirit, He is with us everyone!

.

.
