SING THE SONG

No thought of God can ever be

As life changing as Calvary!

Of course, He made man and the process, too!

True love, sure, they know what to do!

.

.

God made that child a true miracle!

Cannot blame glands or a follicle!

A touch not merely compatible

Resulting in fingers prehensile!

.

.

Surely God loves us, contrastingly

Far above anything we can see!

And in the frame that He made us in,

Cannot be construed as sin!

.

.

Adam and Eve begat a Cain

Then an Able, later slain!

In sin we were conceived, yes, true,

But what is a person ever to do?

.

.

Jesus showed us that cross on a hill!

Sinners saved by Grace!  Truly his will!

“Conceived in Liberty,” true also!

Christian the liberty, we know!

.

.

In dedication to Calvary’s Cross

No, we can never suffer loss!

What God intended  multiply!

When sanctified by marriage, not a lie!

.

.

When sanctified above marriage vows,

Cannot be wrong, it is what God allows!

In fact, condones and multiplies!

.

.

What is the difference?  Let me explain.

A vow binds, means God is in the lane

Depending on Him to bless the home,

Says, you are not thinking of going alone.

.

.

Big difference between love and lust!

Sure, life-long commitment!

Not rust to dust!

When God is at center cannot go wrong!

Make Him your centerpiece!  Sing the song!

HAVE SOME JOY!

One out of ten may enjoy poetry,

Maybe even less!

But you may know why,  why that would be

What I do the best!

.

.

Ever since my very first poem,

Accepted I have had the bug!

Even King David’s poetry, Psalms,

Not stuffed under the rug!

.

.

Sold billions of copies, in a Book,

Bible, you should know

Will sell even more until Jesus comes

Helps Christians to grow!

.

.

Millions have memorized Psalm 23

“My Shepherd…” God is near!

He leads, He feeds!  And satisfies!

What then have I to fear?

.

.

Millions take comfort, it is written,

“I will fear no evil!”

Your rod and staff comfort bring

Need not fear the devil!

.

.

Sure he tempts but he cannot force!

Christ’s table satisfies!

Better than Satan has to offer!

With his tempting lies!

.

.

What can be better than Heaven above?

Devil may promise joy,

Sure, the bilious kind ever ending with

Hangover to annoy!

.

.

And in the end, what promise have I?

Of satisfaction?  Hell!

Heaven alone, everlasting joy!

What else can ring my bell?

.

.

Or keep the bells of Heaven ringing!

It is so hard to conceive

Of a God who longs to have us

Home!  Cannot wait to receive!

.

.

Of course, the place He has prepared for us

So impossible to fathom

When God, like, passes a plate way beyond

Anything known,says, “have some”!

.

.

the Sam 01.17.12

GOD THUNDERED!

“I Am the beginning and the end”

Just no other God around!

Created, made from nothing at all!

Who else then can be found?

.

.

In Turkey soldiers boarded our ship!

I feared them, looked so important.

Sure, and did we have something to hide?

Remembered my deportment!

.

.

Just 10 of age, I was frightened!

But my brother, Bill, seemed so calm!

His attitude no cause for fear!

Sure, no cause for alarm!

.

.

Somehow I wonder did this feeling

Contribute to the thought

Of course, the ridiculous fear

Their self-importance brought.

.

.

And so this thought of self-importance

Was it contributively

To the slang descriptive of one

Like, a stupid Turkey?

.

.

Gobble Gobble, of course, the sound,

Not natural.  Sounds laconic

Adhering to the natural sounding

Made by one ironic!

.

.

Did Christians sound silly about Heaven?

Or was it the whole bit?

Eternity?  Heaven or Hell,

Sinners just do not buy it!

.

.

Jesus said it, sure God came down

His claims of Majesty.

We can know this beyond any doubt.

The Word as certainty!

.

.

Will I think then in my Heavenly home

How could I have even wondered?

Surely Satan lowers the mists of doubt

In what God has thundered!

.

.

Are you ready?  My Brother?

SAVED BY GRACE

Raised in India, British parents,

But American controlled.

Citizen fought in W. W. II!

As First Scout, leading patrol!

.

.

Many the scary ventures contained

Death-wish, do you suppose?

Stood down on a path, enemy in plain view!

Planted grenade, to propose!

.

.

Thinking that they may want it later

And they did!  I stayed awake!

Over the snoring I heard creeping feet,

Tossed the grenade.  What a break!

.

.

Both exploded, as I had hoped,

Someone exclaimed, “It is just Sam.”

I heard scraping as though being dragged,

Not a blink of sleep for this man!

.

.

“Move out!”  Order given, next day

“Where?”  No one around could see!

“Just follow us!  Trail ahead will take…”

“Where?”  Left to Squad Leader and me!

.

.

I had fixed my bullion and coffee,

Others opened their cans,

My liquid diet, after six months,

I had lost 30 pounds!

.

.

I had prayed for protection, as before,

Habit, I guess, but God heard.

Look, I am 93, think there is still more?

Up to nature,  not disturbed!

.

.

For me, God is still under-girding as

I keep praying for strength!

But not presuming as before

Heaven awaits at length!

.

.

Presumptuous presumably, no, no!  For sure!

But “I go to prepare a place…”

All He has done for me these many years!

As I have walked, “Saved by Grace!”

PERFECT THE SALVATION

A perfect work of art, that filigree

Gold and silver lining this tapestry!

Bejeweled splendor forever to behold!

By beauty expert’s eyes, passionless and cold!

.

.

No not lovers, just eyes to see

Observing, sure, so knowledgeably?

Paid to observe!  Just that!  No more!

And price this work of art, what is it for?

.

.

So, what price this One who made a claim

To divinity or deity, no not the same!

For deity applies to only One,

The Godhead!  Holy Spirit!  Father and The Son!

.

.

Many the signs and wonders this man performed!

Lazarus raised from dead!  And Self formed!

Do we not at Easter, recognize

A mighty triumph over all His foes!

.

.

Miraculous life, sure, start with virgin birth!

Countless deeds of mercy, healing the sick.

Many have tried since nor can they begin

To duplicate.  Who, then, can “forgive your sin”?

.

.

We come in Jesus’ name, not just a man.

Today still heals, coming in Jesus’ name.

Be not conformed, this world, but transformed

This change only God can perform!

.

.

What is real?  Life?  A few years then gone!

Heaven reality to lean upon!

This life a vapor.  What is left to build?

They that built skyscrapers, all fulfilled.

.

.

Life so short!  Only old men can see!

What lies beyond the tomorrow?  For you?  For me?

Life, real abundant!  So full and free,

Only then will we know, how abundantly!

.

.

Precarious positions, we are often assigned

In the service of our country.  Where peace of mind

Is challenged to the limit, our safety insecure!

“Sure death” the alternative, can we endure?

.

.

But forever security promised to believers

Trusting Jesus, He only can free us!

From fear of certain death, truly not to fear it!

Whether natural or combative in praise to receive it!

.

.

Can we face death as did the apostle,

“For me to die is gain!”  It is there in his epistle.

We know of a place built by God above

Sinners are accepted, yes, saved by His love!

.

.

the Sam  02.29.12

HIS SHADOW

Whenever Jesus stretched His arms out

And shadow formed a cross.

Suppose He then considered that

One day He would suffer  loss?

.

.

And that day would mean salvation for

Every soul on earth?

Every soul believing, accepting

The Virgin birth.

.

.

Deity, The God incarnate, gift to

Sons of Adam all

Who would listen obeying Jesus’

Dying, Heavenly call!

.

.

Truly possible!  Jesus’ wisdom then

Amazed all the wise ones there

With knowledge well beyond His years,

Mere boy, but brilliant beyond compare.

.

.

Age 12 can we consider that

Dreaming, He spotted that hill?

A hill portending anything that

Could make His heart stand still?

.

.

With abject terror considering the possibility

Of one day suffering on that hill for sinners such as we!

Then later on a hill-top high, His heart cries out for all

Who did not love God, over all, who could hear the call?

.

.

To all sinners, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest!”

Many ways to travel through life.  My way is the best!

“True promise of Heaven, I give to all who follow Me;

I am making it possible, as I die on a cross tree!”

 .

.

“I will become sin.  I will take it all,

Since wages of sin is death.

You need not die, believe this truth,

A promise of heavenly breath!”

.

.

The breath of Heaven, this alone

Can avail, since Adam’s fall.

As we have come short way, short of God’s Glory,

Surely applying to all!

.

.

Delight!  Be glad, for what we see

Beyond this veil of tears

A land of promise!  That supersedes all

Conquering all our fears!

.

.

the Sam, who—what am!  02.13.12

FOUR CROSSES

Four crosses on that hill I see

The 4th one is mine!

Must Jesus bear a cross by Himself

Rest of us just shine?

.

.

No!  There is a cross for Christians all!

Literally, no!

Some guy thought it that way, I guess

Results:  his name did show!

.

.

Not a pleasant disfigurement!

Happy?  Tell the world, no!

Outskirts of a city in

Old Mexico!

.

.

This fanatic attempting to prove

Simply that he could!

Or what else?  Who then can tell?

Did not turn out good!

.

.

Did he consider, like, sins of all

Or only his own?

Maybe just a show off posture.

We should not condone!

.

.

Could anyone take the Savior’s place?

Of course not a one!

Jesus, The Only Perfect man

As God!  Yes, God’s Son!

.

.

Yes, God, as man, the perfect was tempted

God-man must endure!

For 40 days temptation raged!

But endured pure!

.

.

Complete proof that Jesus was (is) God!

Further proof desired?

Crucified, buried, arose the grave!

God!  Indeed!  Inspired!

.

.

What else required?  More proof needed?

Real proof, deep in my heart!

This Superman Jesus is everywhere

And your invitation is a start!

.

.

To show the world what God can do!

First in cleansing from sin!

Then a change, sometimes gradual but sure!

As He enters in!

.

.

Takes over, you bet everything!

Gradually with some.

Jesus is patient.  Finally proves

True before day has, like, run.

.

.

the Sam 01.19.12

MY SIN

The price was paid so long ago,

Christ took the death for you!

Cruel death of the cross we contrived,

Just what else could He do?

.

.

Death for sins, all anticipated

Ever since man’s beginning,

In that fullness of times, deliberate!

His death for you containing!

.

.

This substitution had to take place!

Sure His love for sinful man!

“Wages of sin is death!”  The exchange, this

Only God can!

Such substitution has to be accomplished

God’s love for sinful man!

.

.

The repetition sure for effect!

Can such expression be

Ever vibrant enough to

Capture His love for me?

.

.

This accomplishment, price paid in full.

What further could be done?

Son of God, yes, man’s Creator,

To die for everyone!

.

.

“Wages of sin, sure, death!”  All have sinned!

Fallen way short of projection.

God’s projection for all men, in sin

Lost, torn from protection!

.

.

Only God, a God’s protection hand (love),

Could make Him deny

His holiness, so spotlessly pure

To this though, we comply.

.

.

The thought of assuming all men’s sins

Dying in sin for us.

Who never knew sin, spotless Lamb of

God!  And we from the dust!

.

.

“Dust to dust,”  of all mankind said,

But of the body alone

Imperishable the soul lives on

Always with Christ who  atones!

.

.

Me

LOVE NOT THE WORLD BUT LOVE

Easy to spot the Christian who,

In his self-centeredness,

Sees only avoidance of sin!

Sees no one to bless!

.

.

His avoidance inadvertently

Of everyone else

His eyes on the ground, never to look

Upward!  Just self!

.

.

Why cannot we be proud we love Jesus?

Look on that cross there!

At work, at play admittedly,

Do not I even care?

.

.

Admittedly sure not ashamed

I serve a living Lord!

Some may scoffingly ask and who is that?

Only One can afford–

.

.

To love us all!  For His children we

So often, full of hate!

Lusting instead of love; only

Self to satiate!

.

.

Lust, self love, the difference all know!

Inordinately is hate

Everyone else breathing the air

Just will not accommodate.

.

.

Love each other, for love is of God!

He who does not love

Cannot love God for He is complete in

His purest, above.

.

.

All for when unselfish complete!

Can be nothing I see,

Except so close to the Only One

Who gave His life for me.

.

.

God is love!  And he who loves not, knows

Not, the only One.

Who is purest love who gave His life

My God.  God the Son!

.

.

And He is my Father!

.

.

the Sam 2.15.12

HIGH THE REACH

Need way more good thoughts less of the bad.

More of the happy!  Far less of the sad!

More about Heaven, of course, reaching high!

Air there is thin, but when Jesus is nigh.

.

.

Then purity of air and the breeze

Where beautiful flowers, tall as the trees,

Spread their fragrance throughout everywhere!

No need for artifacts, pretend to compare!

.

.

Perfumery needed beneath God’s domain!

To cover uncleanness, always the same,

Since Satan won, in that garden down there,

Only to lose our Heaven so fair!

.

.

Pure delight far above the sin land,

Where one can feel Satan’s heavy hand,

But no longer felt!  Sure, he is no more!

Cast out!  Unable to reach Heavens shore!

.

.

Delightful the living, no tempter around!

Deflated, defeated, and deep underground!

Satan forgotten!  Just Jesus abiding!

Goodness and joy forever confiding!

.

.

Forever!  If tired, of course, there is rest!

But with bodies glorified the very best

Is yet to come, when in spirit you fly

Transporting forever, just never die!

.

.

So have you considered just where and how?

Depends on whom or to what you kow-tow!

Stuff and things in Hell!  All together!

Down yonder with the best:  stormy weather!

.

.

If walking with Jesus, no need to fear!

Continue that joyous walk!  Ever near,

Just how can one lose?  Sure, lean on His arms!

Resting in Jesus, nothing alarms!

.

.

Of course, I want to see Him!

Look upon His face!
